Deep ( poker )
1) With respect to a lowball hand, the rank of the top card
of the hand one is trying to make when that card is lower than
another draw one could make. For example, Jim stands pat, after
having bet all his chips before the draw.
2) Pertaining to how many chips one has. In a no-limit game,
while contemplating a bet into or a bet from another, a player
might ask, "How deep are you?," meaning, "How
much money do you have on the table?" Such a question might
be asked because the player of whom it is asked might have chips
of mixed denominations, jumbled stacks, or bundles of uncounted
bills.
