Half-Pot Limit ( poker )
A form of poker (particularly common in England) in which the
current betting maximum is equal to half the money in the pot
at the moment the bet is made. When calculating a raise, it
can include the amount required to call the previous bet. For
example, the pot contains $100. You bet the maximum permitted,
$50. If I call, the pot contains $200. I am now permitted to
raise your bet by $100. If I do, your call brings the pot to
$400, and you could raise my bet by another $200, and so on.
