Overbet ( poker )
1) In a no-limit game, make a bet greatly out of proportion
to the size of the pot.
2) A bet greatly out of proportion to the size of the pot.
3) In pot-limit games, a bet made that is larger than the size
of the pot (and which must be counted down by the dealer, so
that it can be cut off at the rounded-up size of the pot). For
example, if the bring-in in a particular game is $25, and the
pot contains $480 at a particular stage, no more than $500 can
be bet at that point; any bet greater than that amount is an
over bet.
