Pick Someone Up ( poker )
Remove a player from a game, usually by the management. If
a player leaves a full table for whatever reason (such as to
have a meal, try to get more playing capital, go outside for
a smoke) and does not return within a specified amount of time
(such as, depending on the card room, 20 minutes, half an hour,
45 minutes), the floor man might elect to pick him up. "You've
been gone for nearly an hour, and the other players were complaining,
so we had to pick you up. Your chips are in the cage."
