Release ( poker )
Fold a hand, usually implying a good hand when you think it
is beat. For example, in hold `em, you have three 7s, but after
the fourth heart just appeared on the board, Transparent Tommy,
who has been calling all the way, now bets out. You might say,
"I knew he made the flush. I hated to do it, but I had
to release a set."
